U.S. ANGLER'S CHOICE COUPLES CHAMPIONSHIP

The final day started warmer and not as windy as day one .The 88 couples brought a total of 273 fish weighing 499.04 lbs for two days of fishing with the winners having the only two-day limit of 10 bass.
Danny and Linda Carter fishing out of the North Mississippi Region put together two limits weighing 23.78lbsand received a Bass Cat Saber with a 150EFI Mercury Outboard with Motorguide trolling motor, Lowrance electronics and a Hamby's Keel Protector becoming the 2003 Couples Champions of Angler's Choice. They caught their fish on Terminator spinner baits and chrome and blue Rattletraps on day one. Day two the Terminator spinner bait was the key catching their first keeper at 11:00. They were fishing drops in the Jones Cut backwater in the Little Rock pool.
Second were Richard and Carolyn Leigeber fishing out of the Alabama Couples Region who Caught 9 bass weighing 18.88 using spinner baits in Manuelle Creek in pool 7 of the Arkansas River they collected $2000 for their efforts.
Third were Ron and Jan Means from Arkansas they used a shad colored 200 series Bandit Crank bait in Jones Cut in the Little Rock pool to collect $1300 with their 8 fish weighing 18.21lbs. Ron and Jan have not missed a couples tournament since it started in 1992.
Fourth were Preston and Freda Davis who had 16.55 using Strike King crank bait. Day one leaders Ron and Angel Bosarge of Cold Water Ms had motor trouble and dropped to5th place over all.

Big Bass was 4.97 caught by Dale and Patti Maine on a Right Bite Green Pumpkin Tube earning them $500.
Both days of a big drum pot were won by Lee and Tiffanee Noack with a 12.56 on day one and a 14.22 on day two earning them $130.
