Cherokee Lake

Flooded brush on Cherokee Lake makes for great fishing.

It was a great day to go fishing on Cherokee Lake in Morristown Tennessee. With highs in the low 80-degree range and a lake full of newly flooded brush to fish everyone knew it was going to be a great day for fishing on Cherokee. This lake is just incredible for producing fish in the 3 to 5 pound class. With that said and the $2000 guaranteed first place no matter how many boats fish is what keeps the best fishermen in the Southeast coming back to Morristown to fish the Angler's Choice Cherokee Super Team Tournament.

The $2000 First Place went to the impressive team of Randy Brown and Greg Burrell. You may remember that this team came in second in the May tournament on Cherokee Lake. Randy reported running his Mercury powered Ranger boat around the mid-section of Cherokee Lake to catch their fish. Greg and Randy reported catching their fish flipping brush on the main lake point to take home the $2000.

James Collins fishing by himself secured a second place finish with 13.55 pounds of fish. James reported running his Triton boat to the mid-section of Cherokee Lake to catch his fish. James stated that he had a limit of fish by 7A.M. James said he was catching his fish on main lake points on top-water.

The lunker of the tournament and third place went to the team of Archie Wilson and Kevin Edwards. Their four fish hit the scales at 13.16 pound. The lunker was a beautiful 5.10 pounds largemouth that was caught on a DD-22. This team reported running their Mercury powered Norris Craft around the mid-section of Cherokee Lake to catch their fish. Nice fish Archie and Kevin!
