Oakley CA, - Big Break Marina played host for the US Anglers Choice California Delta Region 5th event of the year as the team of Steve Sapp and John Varanai vaulted to their second victory of the year as the windy conditions played havoc with most anglers the pair were able to buzzbait some good fish in the South Delta (with little wind) Their limit was anchored by the big fish of the day.

The pair have led the points race for much of the season and now have won there second Anglers Choice event this year. Their knowledge combined with plenty of time on the waters proved to be enough to put together an impressive limit of 19.66 pounds and earned them $1325 dollars, the limit was anchored by a 6.94-pound big fish Big Fish.

In second place with a beautiful bag weighing 19.59 pounds, the team of Dave Carrick and John Whitley. The pair's earned them $660 for their efforts. They used a combination of Buzzbaits and Senkos to finish their limits.

The always-tough team of Mark Mello and Marty Warner put together their usual solid limit, a big fish of 5.75 pounds , and just another solid limit of 17.36 pounds. The team has had some consistent finishes throughout the year and cashed their second third place check in a row for $480.

Rounding out the top five was Dean Grzelak and Gary Dobyns with 16.28-pounds and Alex Agari and Mark Shima with 15.7 pounds. Getting the just out of the money prize, Don Whitney and Ken Schmidt will receive a 10% trolling Motor discount from Gene and the guys at the Hook Line and Sinker.

Big Fish of the event went to the team of Dave Church and Vern Poncia took home $290 for their 7.29 pound big fish.

The return to Big Break Marina was great, the addition of the New "Angler's Cove" Store (925-679-3215) at the facility makes the Big Break Marina again one of the most complete facilities any where on the Delta. Now having a full service tackle store on the water anglers are already starting to show up to grab those needed supplies.
