Handles Weather And Fishing Alone To Win
Written by Steve Jennings
The weather was the big issue of the day. With the weathermen
calling for rain, wind gusting up to 40 MPH and highs in the
40's only the bravest anglers ventured out to test their skills
against Mother Nature.
Ray Luttrell of Knoxville, Tennessee
defeated Mother Nature and ran his Mercury powered boat to
the middle section of Fort Loudoun. There he single-handedly
landed an impressive 18.41 lb. of bass to take first place
in the U.S. Angler's Choice season opener. Ray reported catching
his fish on several different Pradco Lures including 6A Bomber.
A Largemouth that hit the scales at 6.15 lb anchored his bag.
Second place went to Shawn Galyon
of Athens Tennessee and Jim Scruggs of Sweetwater, Tennessee.
This talented team known for catching big fish weighted in
13.86 lb. of bass anchored by a beautiful 6.20 lb. lunker.
The team was tighted lipped as to where and how they caught
their fish.
Third place went to Ricky Robinson
and Carl Post with 13.83 lb. of bass. Ricky reported running
his Mercury powered Triton up Tellico Lake to catch their
mixed bag of Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass. Carl stated that
they caught their fish on several different lures including
crankbait and jigs.
Fourth place went to George Galyon
Jr. and George Galyon III with 11.99 lb. This awesome team
weighted in a beautiful Smallmouth that tipped the scales
to 5.82 lb.
