The Indiana division of the Angler's Choice team trail held it's second tournament of the year Saturday May 22 nd on Lake Freeman. A special thanks to Jim McWhirter and the Monticello Shell for sponsoring this event. The weather was warm and windy, the fish bit fairly well, and a badley timed rainstorm was there to greet us for the weigh-in.
The top three teams all weighed in a 5 fish limit. Congratulations to the team of Chris Schultz and Jeff Denton, who weighed the heaviest bag of 11.43lbs. This allowed them to collect a first place check of $1,490.00 and moved them up in the race for angler of the year.
The current leaders for angler of the year Dan Chopp and Bob Breivogel recorded A weight of 10.45lbs and the big bass of the tournament (3.30lbs), giving them second place and checks totaling $1,320.00.
The third limit and third place went to the team of Doug Fowler and Joe Quick. Their five fish weighed in at 7.48lbs and earned them checks totaling $525.00. The lake produced well as only 5 teams were unable to weigh in a keeper.
The entire field did a great job of registration; all teams were checked in prior to the 5:30 meeting.
Please remember how accommodating Jenny at the Dodge camp ramp was to our circuit and use her facility when fishing Freeman in the future.
We should also support all of our local and national sponsor's by using their products when ever possible.
Important Announcement! We will use the Cutright ramp at Monroe, June 20 th , not the Paynetown ramp as listed on the brochure. Please tell anyone who might be going to make sure they go to Cutright.
I will make an announcement in the Shafer letter and at the Patoka tournament.
Thanks,
Jerry |
