The Indiana division of the Angler's Choice team trail held it's third tournament of the year Sunday May 23 nd on Lake Shafer. A special thanks to Jim McWhirter and the Monticello Shell for sponsoring this event. The weather was Overcast, with storms threatening all day. The fishing was great and this time we missed the storm at weigh-in.
The field did very well with 8 teams weighing in a 5 fish limit, and 33 out of 34 teams weighed fish. The field was also shuffled quite a bit as several teams made big moves towards qualification births.
The team of Jeff Vandergraff and Wade Cohagan won the event with the heaviest bag of 11.43lbs. This helped their overall position and earned them first place checks worth $1,490.00 Congratulations!
The team of Jim Han and Kyle Achor also made a big move in points while placing second with a real nice bag weighing 10.15lbs. They collected checks totaling $990.00 for their fine effort.
Tim Guard and Russell Zoeller won the third place battle as third and fourth were separated by one tenth of an ounce; their third place weight of 9.92lbs was followed closely by 9.91, 9.61, 9.09 and 9.05lbs. Again these two helped their position while collecting checks worth $525.00.
Big Bass for the tournament was caught by the team of Damon Howlett and Marty Yoder. The fish weighed 3.70lbs and earned them $330.00.
Most fish reportedly fell victim to tubes, crankbaits and worms.
Once again all teams were on time and everything went smooth at registration and take-off. You all are to be commended for your efforts.
Please remember to support all of our local and national sponsor's by using their products when ever possible.
Important Announcement! We will use the Cutright ramp at Monroe, June 20 th , not the Paynetown ramp as listed on the brochure. Please tell anyone who might be going to make sure they go to Cutright.
