The second U.S. Anglers Choice team bass tournament was held Sunday out of Kentucky Dam Marina. The team of Danny York and Chuck Rounds of Benton Kentucky brought in a 5 fish limit weighing 18.59 pounds capture the First Place Trophies and $1,220.00 cash. Danny also had the biggest bass of the event, a 6.36 largemouth that added $186.00 to the teams total winnings. Danny said they caught all of their fish on rattletraps. Chuck said they only had 7 bites all day, but 5 were keepers and they got them all in the boat.

In second place with a 5 fish limit weighing 17.01 pounds was the team of Todd and Troy Hollowell from Beech Grove Indiana. Todd said the ran to the southern end of Kentucky Lake in the heavy swells to find their fish. The wind was blowing quite hard Sunday and Troy said the ride back was a real thriller.

In third place with 4 fish weighing 13.94 pounds was the team of Andy Hodges from Cadiz and Dewayne Whitledge of Dixon Kentucky. Andy and Dewayne were the winners of the first tournament and now have a check in 2 straight events.

Hodges and Whitledge are second with 229.77 and the team of Mark Jordan from Kevil Kentucky and Lynn Wilson from Paducah are third with 215.02 points. At the end of the year, the top 40% of the teams will be invited to the classic on Dale Hollow Lake on November 4-6th. They will be fishing for 3 fully rigged Bass Cat boats powered by Mercury motors and fitted with Lowrance electronics and a Motoguide trolling motor. The classic is a no entry fee event. In addition, any team qualifying for the classic that has fished in all 7 events on Kentucky/Barkley or 7 or more events in the Choice ( traveling ) division will also be eligible to fish any of the other 6 regional classics, all with no entry fee. Some of the other classic locations are Neely Henry, Alabama, Arkansas River and Toledo Bend, Texas.
