Bond and Lynch win Anglers Choice Bass Tournament

Jerry Bond and Drew Lynch of Paducah Ky put together a 5 fish limit weighing 14.74 pounds to win the 5 th of 7 Anglers Choice Team Bass Tournaments event held at Kentucky Dam State Park on Sunday. Jerry said they caught their fish on Black and Blue Jigs and Carolina Rigs on Kentucky Lake. The win was worth $1,160 for the team from Paducah.

In second place, just narrowly missing to top spot was the team of Scotty Young and Chuck Henley of Mayfield Ky with a 5 fish limit weighing 14.48 pounds. The team is sponsored by Hewitt Tax Service, All Star Rods and Ranger Boats. Scotty said they caught over 15 keepers during the day to cull their 14 plus pounds. He said they caught most of their fish on a crankbait.

Finishing in third place was the team of Chris Hoover of Calvert City and Ronnie Brinegar of Gilbertsville with 5 fish weighing 14.14 pounds. Ronnie also had the second big bass, a largemouth weighing 4.45 pounds. The team is sponsored by FLW outdoors. They also said they caught over 15 keepers, but could not find the one kicker to put them in first place.

The big fish of the event went to Bruce Weller of Benton with a largemouth weighing 5.17 pounds. Bruce said he caught the fish on their first stop of the day by pitching a lizard into some submerged yellow flowers.

Anglers Choice is a National Team Tournament series which will qualify 40% of the teams plus wildcards into the Northern Regional Classic which is a no entry fee event to be held on Dale Hollow on November 4-6. In addition, all teams that fish 7 events or more and qualify for the Northern Regional Classic will be eligible to fish all 7 regional classics which are no entry fee events. Each classic will give away three Bass Cat Bass Boats powered by Mercury motors to the top three finishing teams.
