Rounds and York win US Anglers Choice Bass Tournament

Chuck Rounds and Danny York from Benton Kentucky won the US Anglers Choice team bass tournament held at Ken Lake Marina Sunday by boating a 5 fish limit weighing 19.22 pounds. They dodged the thunderstorms and wind to win $1,200 and strengthened their points lead in the 7 event Bass Tournament Trail standings. Danny said they caught 15 keepers on the day. In second place with a 5 fish limit was the team of Drew Lynch and Jerry Bond of Paducah. They totaled 17.77 pounds which earned them $655. They also had the biggest bass of the day, a 5.92 pound largemouth. Drew said they caught most of their fish on deep crankbaits. In third place, worth $375 was the team of Randy Thomas and Russell Wagner of Paducah. They had another 5 fish limit weighing 16.97 pounds. The team is sponsored by The Smoke Shop of Paducah. In all, 10 teams brought in 5 fish limits on the day.

In the year long standings, Chuck and Danny continue to lead Ronnie Brinegar of Gilbertsville and Chris Hoover of Calvert City. Ronnie and Chris are sponsored by FLW Outdoors. In third is team of Scotty Young and Chuck Henley of Mayfield. They are sponsored by Ranger Boats, All Star Rods and Hewitt Tax Services. The top 10 teams will advance to the North Region Classic where they will compete for 3 fully rigged BassCat Bass Boats powered by Mercury Motors and rigged with Lowrance Depth Finders and a Motorguide Trolling Motor. The classic will be held at Dale Hol.low on November 4-6, 2004.
