Chad Pody and Ken Lantrip took a giant step toward winning their third consecutive North Central Louisiana Anglers Choice Anglers of the Year Award by winning the June Tournament last week end on D'Arbonne Lake.

Pody and Lantrip outfished the other 31 teams in the event by posting a weight of 16.31 pounds for their 5 fish limit. The win not only made the team from Ruston $1310 richer, but also moved them into third place in the point's race. Scott and Stan Smith still hold a 4-point lead over Chad and Gerald Williams with Pody and Lantrip 6 points behind them.

Glynn Blankinship and Kenny Covington also caught a good limit weighing 15.69 pounds for second place and $655. Their strong showing moved them into 4th place in the point's race.

The long time Anglers Choice Team of Martin Elshout and Mark Price finished third Saturday with 5 fish weighing 14.31 pounds for $536. Bill Atkins and Chris Morgan who had a total of 12.72 pounds and the tournament's Big Bass that weighed 5.36 pounds followed them. Their total paycheck was $750.


Larry and Shannon Pardue weighed in 5 fish totaling 11.48 pounds to claim the fifth place check for $355, and Larry Ludlow and David Harris were sixth with 11.10 for $270.

The North Central Louisiana Teams will be on the Ouachita River July the 19th out of the Sterlington ramp, and will finish the seven tournament series at D'Arbonne on August 16th.
