On Saturday May 22 nd the North Central Louisiana Angler's Choice Teams held their 4 th event of the year at beautiful Lake D'Arbonne. The weather conditions were perfect with overcast early and bright sunshine by mid morning. The 31 teams entered in the event reported some success early on buzbaits and chug bugs but the majority of the fish caught were taken on Carolina rigs and crank baits out on the channel.

Glynn Blankinship and Kenny Covington brought in a 5 fish limit that weighed 16.09 pounds to claim the first place check of $1420. The win also extended their lead in the Anglers of the Year points race to 16 points. Glynn and Kenny won the title last year and are making a strong bid to repeat this year.

Finishing in second place with a 15.37 pound limit were Larry and Shannon Pardue. They collected $710 for their efforts and also moved into second place in the Anglers of the Year race. With 3 events remaining on this year's schedule the points race has become a question of can Larry and Shannon catch Glynn and Kenny as these two teams continue to separate themselves from the rest of the field.

Ken Lantrip and Chad Pody only put four fish in their boat on Saturday, but those four fish tipped the scales to 13.68 pounds which was good enough to claim the third place check of $555. Their stringer also included a 5.87 pound bass that paid them another $310 as the tournaments big bass.

Finishing forth with a limit weighing 13.06 pounds, was the team of Steve Cagle and Kenny Zirkel. Steve and Kenny Collected $310 for their finish. Curtis Simpson and Ron Aulds collected the fifth place check of $180 for their 5 fish that weighed 11.95 pounds.

Our next Tournament will be on the Ouachita River out of Lazare Point on June 19. We will be back on the river July 17 and will finish the season at D'Arbonne on August 14 th . This year's State Championship will be on the Red River at Natchitoches, Louisiana on October 1 st and 2 nd .
