Blankinship & Covington go Back to Back
Monroe Louisiana:
Glynn Blankinship and Kenny Covington solidified their lead in the North Central Louisiana Angler's Choice Anglers of the Year race by winning their second consecutive tournament this Saturday. The teams 5 fish limit of 14.10 pounds bested the other 24 teams that were present at the Ouachita River and gave them a 47 point lead in the AOY standings. With the river unusually high for this time of year Blankinship and Covington were able to gain access to some of the river lakes and backwater where they used a variety of lures to catch their winning string of bass. Their first place check was $1310.
Jeff Kidd & Todd Peters boated 5 fish that weighed in at 11.72 pounds for the second place check of $650. Jeff and Todd never miss an Angler's Choice event and we send out a well disserved congratulations to them for there second place finish.
The Father and Son team of Gerald and Chad Williams captured the third place check of $435 for their limit that weighed 11.45 pounds, and the steady team of Lonnie Dean and Gary Clements received the forth place check of $170 for their limit weighing 11.02 pounds.
Kendall Parent and Louis Book just missed the place payout with 10.91 pounds, but they did have a 5.20 pound bass that was the events Big Bass that paid them $250.
The North Central Louisiana Teams will be back on the Ouachita River on July 17 out of Lazare Point and will finish the season at D'Arbonne Lake on August 14. The 25 top teams will then travel to The Red River at Natchitoches in October for the Louisiana Angler's Choice State Tournament.
