And Cory Head Win Guntersville
1st
Place : Greg Gilley and Cory Head both of Boaz fished in three
places on the lower end of the lake, but on the main river.
Using a slow retrieve and ticking the grass with a custom
painted Bomber in the crawfish pattern, that Greg Gilley paints
himself, in 6 to 10 feet of water. With a total weight of
18.51,they were able to capture the title and take the lead
for the N E Alabama Teams.
2nd
Place: Steve Dick and Shane Dick both of Albertville and the
owners of C & C Fencing were able to put their profession
and livelihood to good use by corralling a limit of bass that
weighed 18.03. They also fished on the lower lake in the Spring
Creek area. With the threat of rain and thunder all around
the lake seemed to make their fish bite, when it cleared up
the fish cleared out for them. They used a 1/4oz black &
gold Bill Lewis Rattle Trap in 2 to 7 feet of water in the
milfoil.
3rd
Place: Jerry Wells of Flat Rock and Ted Carlton of Scottsboro
defending their N E Alabama Teams Angler of the Year Title,
get off to a good start weighing 17.86. The day was slow for
them with only 8 bites all day, and the fish they had located
in practice had left. They fished up river and stayed on the
main lake using a Bill Lewis 1/4oz chrome & blue Rattle
Trap in two feet of water.
