Adam
Brown and Jason Grape Go Ape At Neely Henry
Adam Brown and Jason Grape
slow-rolled white Strike King Spinner Baits with Gold blades
around stumps way down river to catch their five beautiful
Kentucky Spotted Bass that weighed 18.70 lbs. Their first
place check should have been a little over $1300, but with
the NEW U.S. Angler's Choice program, First Place is now a GUARANTEED
MINIMUM $1500 when there are at least 35 Boats! Their first
place finish moved them into the lead for Anglers of the
Year.
Jim Douglas and Joe Boatfield fished up-river bluffs with
Legacy Jigs in a little clearer water with some wind generated
current. The fish were post-spawn, and holding tight on
the rocks and wood. They had a five fish limit weighing
16.34 lbs. in their first tournament with North East Alabama
Teams. They received a check for $653 for their catch.
Third Place went to Terry Martin and Terrell Harbin for
their five fish limit weighing 16.01 lbs. They earned $580
for their catch that came from the mid-lake area. They were
using Black Zoom Trick Worms around shallow weeds.
Community Sports Network was filming the tournament and
weigh-in, which will air as a one hour program on most of
the North East Alabama area cable systems. They got to see
a field of 39 teams bring a total of 34 five-fish limits
to the scales. With a total weight of 418.17 pounds being
weighed in, it made the average five-fish limit tip the
scales at nearly ten and three-quarter pounds! It took almost
fourteen pounds to receive a check.
I would like to thank the NE Alabama Team Sponsors for their
continued support, Jim Shank - Krystal, Pitts - Gaylesville
Pitt Stop, Tony Lane - The Hawg's Den Marina, and ZOOM Bait
Company.
