Bellew And Davis
Take 1st On Weiss
1ST PLACE: Mike Davis of
Southside and Bobby Bellew of Gadsden came to the scales
with a nice bag of fish that weighed 18.56 and walked
off with a paycheck of $1500. They spent their day on
the lower end of Weiss Lake pitching a 4" Zoom
worm under the numerous piers in Yellow Creek.
2nd PLACE: Adam Brown and
Jason Grape both of Gadsden came in with a limit of
fish that weighed 15.47 and was awarded a check of $660.
They also fished down lake using three different patterns.
The team started with their top water pattern in the
morning, then went to the piers to flip and finished
by cranking the ledges. Adam and Jason who had won our
last Neely Henry tournament, moved back on top in the
standings for the race for Anglers of the Year.
3rd PLACE: Darren Oliver
of Anniston and Andy Lash of Wellington also came in
with a nice limit that weighed 14.95 and awarded a check
of $600. They also had the Big Bass of the tournament
which weighed 5.24 and added another $390 to their payday.
The team used a Poe's 400 crankbait and a Red Shad Zoom
U tail worm. They fished long points on the lower end
with their boat in 14 - 15 foot of water with most of
the bites coming in 7 - 12 foot of water.
Thanks and appreciation
to the N.E. Alabama Team Sponsors:
Jim Shank and Krystal Restaurants, Doug Campbell and
Waterfront Tackle, Lee Pitts and the Gaylesville Pitt
Stop, ZOOM Bait Company, Ottis Toney and Rainbow Marina
and Pasquales Pizza, and Tony Lane of the Hawg's Den
who also hosted our tournament.
Thank you to Community
Sports Network who were also there to film our tournament
and a very special thanks to the North Cobb County Bassmasters
out of Georgia who were also having a club tournament
at the Hawg's Den. After experiencing a small problem
with my scales, they were kind enough to hang around
an extra hour with their scale to lend me, if in the
event that my scales had failed, I appreciate that very
much and I hope to see a few of them in our upcoming
tournaments.
