Anglers Choice Northeastern Ohio Trail kicked off its inaugural
tournament with great weather at Mosquito Lake. A total of
16 teams competed for the honors of being the first team to
wear the crown on this new trail. However, the team of Charlie
and Jeff Walker was especially fond of the day since they
won the event with 5 fish for a total of 9.46 pounds, and
also walked away with big bass of 3.28 pounds. Charlie and
Jeff collected winnings of $1,065 and jumped out to the early
lead for the Northeastern Ohio Trail Anglers of the Year race.
Following behind the winners was the second place team
of Larry Hamilton and Bruce Rice with their limit and a
total of 7.92 pounds, good enough to collect a check worth
$480.
Al Masaitis and Bob Easton Sr. also limited out with a
total of 7.10 pounds and collected a check of $225 for their
efforts.
The Northeastern Ohio trail now moves to Salt Fork State
Park for its next event on May 2, 2004. The tournament site
will be at the Old Marina Ramp and will blast off at 8:00
AM.

See ya on the lake,
