Skelton And Perry
Two different lakes, three different fishing patterns. Rizuto/Ragsdale is a team on a mission and it does not seem that anyone can stop them. I bet there are a few teams that are going to try still. The pattern this time as told by Chuck Rizuto himself was deep trees, 15 to 20 feet, fishing weightless Senkos. I would have put on another 5lbs. eating and waiting for them to get down. They found something no one else was doing and won their third straight event with five fish at 9.91lbs. The team of Perry/Skelton was 2nd with four fish at 9.22lbs and Big Bass at 5.35lbs. Starting a pattern of their own, the team of Stanley/Pirkey finished third with two fish for 8.84lbs. This is the second time in a row that we finished 1 place out of the money. Not what I would call something that you would want to keep repeating. We had second biggest bass, go figure, at 4.99lbs. There was 14 teams with 12 teams weighing fish.

We have two more tournaments left, one at McPhee, July 26, and Navajo on August 16. The last tournament will decide the two Wild Card teams based on the teams that fished six or more events but failed to qualify by points. Now is the time to bear down and make sure you are one of the 10 teams going to Clear Lake, Ca.

I would like to thank the New Mexico State Parks people for their help in getting us a weigh-in site close to the lake. It made getting the fish back in the lake quicker and hopefully less stressed. This time of year with the lake level way down, it makes it extremely hard to pull these off without any hitches. They did a great job. Please tell them the next time up at the lake. It can make a difference at future events.

I would like to thank our sponsors for their support that makes this circuit and up-coming championship at Clear Lake, Cal. possible.
