Tom Shockley, Vice President, US Anglers
Choice, announced today a change in directorship for
the North Louisiana Team Trail has been made. Hershel
White, an avid bass fisherman, long time supporter
of Angler’s Choice and an assistant to director
Dewayne Sams since 2001, has been appointed tournament
director for the North Louisiana Team Trail. White
will officially take over the directorship from Sams
effective March 15, 2003.
Sams’ resignation is based on
work schedule changes requiring Sams to work weekends.
Sams was notified of the changes in a company wide
employee’s meeting on March 7th. “I was
told that my work week of 4- 10’s is being changed
to six days a week. And the days I had scheduled to
be off for tournaments had been changed too…
and the best they could do would be let me come in
a hour or two late on those days.” Therefore
Sams will not be able to fulfill his obligations to
US Angler’s Choice or his tournament schedule
in 2003. “Dewayne Sams has been a dedicated Anglers
Choice and US Angler’s Choice tournament director
since the spring of 2001… and I would like to
thank Dewayne for his valiant efforts and many contributions
he an his dad Everett have made during this time”
said Shockley.
Hershel White will pick up where Sams
left off. The current tournament schedule will remain
unchanged. White, assisted by Harold Peters also an
assistant to Sams for the past two years will hold
his first tournament as new US Angler’s Choice
director on Lake Bistineau, out of State Park 1 as
scheduled Saturday, March 22, 2003.
White, who is a self employed flooring
installation contractor told Shockley “ I have
the time to dedicate to the trail that Dewayne didn’t
have and I am excited about having the opportunity
to become an US Angler’s Choice tournament director….
I will do everything humanly possible to build up
the tournament trail.” White continued, “
I would like to encourage all anglers to join me and
my staff for what should be an exciting year of bass
fishing here in North Louisiana.” The fishermen
in North Louisiana have said the North Louisiana tournament
schedule is the best one they have ever seen, said
Sams.
