Earle Hammond and Brandon Jennings go shallow for big bass and the tournament win on Lake of the Ozarks.

The Lake of the Ozarks division of Angler's Choice launched out of Drake Harbor for its fourth event of a seven event series. Many were happy to be on the calmer waters of the upper Osage and good weights were brought to the scales. Drake Harbor offers an escape from the rough main lake during the pleasure boating season and also produces good bags of fish. Our next event will also be held out of Drake Harbor on August 7 th .
The first place team of Earle Hammond and Brandon Jennings from Cameron, Missouri had their boat positioned in 2 foot of water for most of the day as they found their fish to be extremely shallow. They flipped black and blue jigs around lay downs on shallow flats and most of their fish were caught in a foot of water or less. They ran about 25 miles to catch their fish. The team had a total weight of 16.15lbs, which was also anchored by the Lunker Lure Big Bass of the day weighing 4.75lbs. The team earned checks coming to a grand total of $1,596.00 dollars for the day. The team is sponsored by: Team Piper, Timberland Taxidermy and Minn Kota Trolling Motors. Great Job Guy's!!
The second place team of Kevin Owen from Laurie, Missouri and Larry Lucas of Gravois Mills, Missouri made a seventy-mile run to boat their keepers. They Carolina rigged early and switched to a jig later in the day. The team had a limit in the boat by 9:00am and went on to catch several other keeper fish during the day. The team had a total weight of 15.18lbs and takes home checks totaling $777.00 for the place.
The third place team of Danny Collier of Lake Ozark, Missouri and Mike Mills of Sparta, Missouri had a slow start to the day, as they did not really start getting bit until around 9:00am. The team had a similar pattern to the first place team as they found their fish located in a foot of water or less on lay downs located on shallow flats. Jigs were also the bait of choice for the team as they brought a five fish limit to the scales weighing 14.49lbs and earning the teams checks totaling $477.00.
