Full moon, 33°Temperatures,
and clear skies set the stage for the season opener
on Lake Conroe for the new South East Team Division.
Thirty-six teams took to the frigid morning air in search
for the stringer that would land them 1st place and
a check for $1,360.00. The team of Robert Thierry III
and David Hemple fished American Rod Smiths rods using
crankbaits and Mizmo tubes to bag 16.84 lbs. and secure
them 1st place. Most of their bites came after 10:00am
in 3-5 ft. of water. Keith Kramer and Chuck Gstohl came
in second with 15.56 lbs. winning $680.00. Rounding
out the top 3 was Matt Launikitis with 12.17 lbs. anchoring
his sack was Big Bass of the tournament weighing 8.93
lbs. bringing his total winnings to $945.00.
