Waterwood Resort on Lake Livingston hosted number 5
of 7 events for the Southeast Texas division of Anglers
Choice. Mild winds and 88 degree temps greeted 44 teams.
As the season draws closer to an end with only two events
remaining the points for Anglers of the year grows closer
and closer.
First place of the 5th event on Lake
Livingston went to the team of Charles Bebber and
Ricky Johnson weighing in a limit that tipped at 17.69
lbs... Charles and Ricky received a 1st place check
for $1475.00 and the Bass Cat Bonus Bucks Cert. valued
at $1000.00 bringing their combined first place prize
to $2475.00. They reported enjoying an all day bite
pitching craws and crankbaits.
Second Place went to the team of Todd
Gurka and Shawn Shry with a limit that weighed 15.52
lbs. Anchoring their sack was big bass of the tournament
that weighed 7.30 lbs. Todd and Shawn's combined big
bass and 2nd place earnings totaled $1175.00. Todd
and Shawn are closing in on our current leaders (David
Curtis and Russell Cecil) of the year, trailing by
only 15.6 pts.
Third place went to the team of Leonard
Jankowiak and Chris Russell with a weight of 13.06
lbs. Leonard and Chris received a 3rd place check
for 660.00.
As you all know Sunday we had a problem
with our scales. The scales were locking on zero.
Every ones fish that was weighed with the first set
were accurately weighed. We changed to another set
of scales to finish the weigh-in. Both sets are certified
and both scales read identical.
Our next event will be on Lake Conroe,
June 22, 2003. We hope to see everyone and more at
Stow-A-Way for the 6th event. We appreciate everyone
who fished and look forward to another big event on
Conroe. We do ask that any fishermen that plan on
staying at Waterwood Resort in July to go ahead and
call to make your reservations. A few weeks before
the tournament any rooms that we have set aside that
have not been taken are released.
