The
Southeast Texas tournament trail returned to April Plaza
Marina on Lake Conroe for the 3rd event of the season.
The early morning showers did not discourage the anglers,
as 44 teams blasted out for the day.
The team of Chip and Brian Sewell, of Coldspring, TX.
used their technique of flipping dark colored tubes
in shallow water to bring in a limit with a total weight
of 23.29 lbs. in which they received $1,705.00 for their
winning efforts. Chip and Brian continue to show their
skills as they have placed 1st and 2nd in the past 2
tournaments.
2nd place went to the team of Charles Bebber and Rick
Johnson. Charles and Rick weighed in 3 fish with a total
weight of 18.29 lbs. earning them $873.00. In addition
to the 2nd place finish, Rick also brought in the Big
Bass of the day crushing the scales at 11.95 lbs. for
an extra $420.00 !! Now that’s a nice fish !! The
Big Bass gave Charles and Rick a total of $1,293.00
for the tournament.
3rd place went to the duo of Todd Gurka and Shawn Shry.
Todd and shawn weighed in a sack of 4 fish tipping the
scales at 17.98 lbs. earning them $650.00 for their
catch. Once again, the Southeast Texas anglers prove
that they can bring in nice sacks of fish !
For our next event, we’ll be traveling to Fisherman’s
Point Marina on Richland Chambers on Sunday, April 4th.
Registration will be at the marina from 4-6 PM, Saturday
April 3rd. We look forward to seeing everyone there
!
