The Southeast Texas tournament trail returned to April Plaza Marina on Lake Conroe for the 6th event of the 2004 season. Sunny skies made for a warm day of South Texas fishing.

The team of Kerry Sanders and Matt Launikitis used a variety of baits to bring in the 1 st place stringer of 18.82 lbs. However, Matt mentioned that most of their fish were caught on crank baits and worms. Kerry and Matt earned $1,265.00 for their 1 st place finish.

2 nd place went to the team of Ronnie Chumley and Jeff Winders. Ronnie and Jeff brought in a 5 fish limit weighing 16.22 lbs. and netted them $645.00 for their efforts.

Keeping things close was the duo of Ronnie Wagner and Mike Regan. Ronnie and Mike caught their limit as well and tipped the scales at 15.00 lbs. earning them $450.00 for their 3 rd place finish.

The Big Bass of the day was brought in by Johnny Keefer of Magnolia, TX. Johnny's technique of throwing Carolina rigged lizards on secondary points paid off when he hooked his 7.33 lb. bass. Nice fish Johnny !!

For our next event, we'll be traveling back to Lake Livingston on Sunday, July 11 th . Registration will be at Waterwood from 4-6 PM, Saturday July 10th. We look forward to seeing everyone there !
