Big Bass Tony

Here we are once again, and already past the third tournament of 2003. Amazing!

It seems as if Mother Nature is not going to cooperate with the fisherman in South Louisiana this year. The twenty-three teams that blasted off from Doiron's Landing were faced with sporadic rain throughout the day, at times with torrential downpours. They were not to be deterred, though, as there were no early arrivals at the scales.

Between the fish flopping around and the strong winds, Troy, our assistant director and weigh master, had a most difficult time at the scales. The weigh-in took longer than usual in order to get accurate weights. Thanks for everyone's patience.

Philip Waguespack and Cliff Crochet took the honor of first place and $1185 for their 5 fish limit weighing in at 12.86 pounds. Not far behind were Ken Sherman and Brent Bonadona, also weighing a limit at 12.54 pounds. They added another $590 to their prior winnings. Five fish and 10.93 pounds put David and Derek Mong in third place, and $400 in their pockets. Francis and David Rodriguez tied up fourth place and $365 with a10.92 pound limit. Big bass and $230 went to Tony Granier and Robbie Poche.

The weather may have been awful, but the food was awesome! Yvette and Jane cooked up an alligator sauce piquante that would make you want to slap your Mama! It didn't take long for 30 pounds of alligator meat to be devoured. Thanks go out to Larry Boudreaux for donating the alligator meat, and Yvette and Jane for turning it into something scrumptious. Suggestions are more than welcome for food for the upcoming tournament in Bayou Black. At the present moment, we are at a loss.

O.K., guys. Let's get those applications mailed in before the tournament. It avoids confusion, not to mention the fact that I am barely awake at 4:30 in the morning.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Bayou Black,
Cayce
