It was a chilly, foggy morning that greeted the 26 teams from the South Louisiana Team Trail for the fourth tournament of the circuit. According to the forecast, it was going to be a beautiful, breezy spring day. It turned out to be just that, and by the time teams began showing up at Bayou Black Marina, temperatures had risen into the eighties.

Big bass and five fish limits were the norm for the day, with the best weight tipping the scales at 21.49 pounds. Dwayne Plaisance and David St. Pierre made a chancy run from Bayou Black to Venice, but it paid off. With a 5.30 pound lunker, they pocketed $1490. Coming in second with 14.80 pounds were Dave and Derek Mong. Not far behind were Marty and Nathan Poche', bringing in 14.17 pounds. Ken Sherman and Brent Bonadona tied up fourth place with 13.70 pounds. Fifth place was won by Kevin Gaubert and Brad Friloux with 10.39 pounds.

Yvette was kept busy serving turkey and gravy sandwiches to all the fishermen. It didn't take long for them to make history of two turkeys! I wonder what we're having for the next tournament.

Thanks to Bobby Breaux and his daughter Julie for their gracious hospitality. It's always a pleasure.

With four tournaments behind us and three to go, it's a race to the championship.

Until Des Allemands in May,

Cayce
