What a miserable day for our sixth tournament of the circuit! It was hard to decide what was worse, whether it be the heat, humidity or rain. All three combined definitely made for tough fishing. Twenty one teams managed to bring only 37 bass to the scales.

Danny Burgess and Kerry Goolsby brought in a limit weighing 12.13 pounds. Their endurance earned them $1140 and first place. Weighing in the only other full stringer were Chris Waguespack and Jason Tastet. For 9.76 pounds, they marched into second place and $570. Third place and $335 went to Ken Sherman and Brent Bonadona for 3 bass weighing 8.50 pounds. Jerome Danos and Brad Rodrigue sewed up fourth place and $270 with 7.18 pounds. Joey Louque and Paul Roussell brought in a 4.26 pounder which earned them the big bass check for $210. Congratulations to all!

My apologies to Joey for making him take Paul’s picture with the big bass. But, I’m still not sure who actually caught it!

Considering how hot it is, Yvette decided not to cook. L But, she did have ham po-boys for the guys when they came in. It’s amazing how good sandwiches taste when you’re near water!

Our last tournament for this year will be out of Doiron’s Landing on July 12th. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there. For those of you who don’t think you have a chance at the Championship, don’t give up. Get out there and fish! And to those of you who think the Championship is a sure thing, it isn’t over until the last fish is weighed in.

See you all on the 12th,
Cayce
