What everyone thought was
going to be a miserable day to be on the water, actually
turned out to be a beautiful day. Instead of the rain
that was promised, we had bluebird skies over the first
tournament of 2004. Eleven of the 24 teams fishing brought
in a limit of very healthy bass.
Mike Gunter and Michael
Robert weren't sure their 12.02 lbs. would hold for
1st place, but it did. They were certainly happy to
receive a check for $1210. Second place and $605 went
to Ivy St. Romain and Terry Scott. Their limit weighed
in at 10.94 lbs. Ivy and Terry also caught the big bass
of the day which weighed a hefty 5.46 pounds. That put
another $240 in their pockets. Third place and $450
was taken by Kevin Gaubert and Brad Friloux with a limit
weighing 10.77 lbs. Vernon Silver and Troy Poret made
the cut for $385 and 4th place at 10.20 lbs. Congratulations
to all who placed!
Yes, Yvette's cooking again
this year. All the guys were treated to a bowl of crawfish
and corn soup after weighing in. Scrumptious! I'm sure
they will all agree that the $10 we will be collecting
from each angler at the next tournament to cover food
expenses for the year is a bargain. Seven good meals
for $10. Where else can you find a bargain like that?
Welcome to all incoming
Angler's Choice members, and welcome back to all returning.
I am looking forward to an exciting year.
Until February,
Cayce
