1st Place Big Bass Winners

Miserable! That's about the best word to describe the weather for the 4th tournament of the South Louisiana Team Trail. The rain broke for take-off, but returned shortly thereafter. With the rain and 15-20 mph winds, it was a rough day for fishing for the seventeen die-hard teams who braved the weather.

The race for Anglers of the Year is definitely under way. Brad Friloux and Kevin Gaubert held 1st place in the standings, gaining a few points on Todd Schaubhut and Norman Guidry. Making the run to Venice from Des Allemands paid off for Brad and Kevin. Their limit weighed in at 12.19 pounds. Even though they suffered mishaps on their trip, they were happy to take 1st place and a check for $1157. Randy Joubert and Craig Walker wrapped up 2nd place and $772 with a stringer weighing 10.35 pounds. The big bass of the day, worth $170, was caught by Dave and Derek Mong. It weighed in at 3.52 pounds.

The guys were certainly happy to see the two pots of steaming red beans and sausage when they arrived at the marina. Thanks again to Yvette for providing them all with a hot meal.

The next tournament on our circuit will be held on May 16th out of Venice Marina. I hope to see everyone there.

Until then,

Cayce
