Turning on the heat for the last two tournaments, Alex and LeeRoy Bergeron walked away with back to back wins. Their 13.53 lb. limit earned them an additional $947. Less than one pound behind them, with a limit weighing 12.76 pounds, were Al Pennison and Dennis Rochel. In addition to the $630 they won for 2nd place, they also took home an additional $140 for their 5.31 lb. big bass.
It certainly has been a race for Anglers of the Year. But when the scales closed, it was Kevin Gaubert and Brad Friloux who came out at the top. Their hard work and perseverance certainly paid off for them.
Congratulations to all who placed, and also to Kevin and Brad for coming out Anglers of the Year.
Boiled shrimp, potatoes, corn, onions and sausage awaited everyone when they arrived at the marina. What a special treat! Keith Plaisance was kind enough to cut his fishing short in order to have the feast ready at precisely 3:00. A huge thank you goes to Brad and Keith for this generous donation. It was enjoyed by all.
I could not end this year without thanking all those who make it possible to run this circuit. First, there is Jane Poche who arrives before dawn to help. Then there is Yvette Granier, the circuit cook. And last, but not least, is Troy Roundtree, my assistant and weigh master. It would be impossible without them.
What a year! Next is the Championship. I look forward to seeing everyone there.
Until then,
Cayce
