Despite the wind and
cool weather many large bass were weighed at our first
Martinez tournament. This was the second tournament
of the season and most all of the 24 boat field weighed
in fish - half of them weighing in a limit. There were
87 fish caught totaling over 216 pounds. Three bass
over 7 pounds were weighed in with one tipping the scales
at 8.23 pounds. Several 5 and 6 pound bass were weighed
in to round out 6 limits over 15 pounds.

- Bob Kinley 18.07 lb 5 fish
2nd place Dave Mitchell - Roy Price 16.16 lb 5 fish
3rd place Jimmy Phipps - Brian Christensen 16.05 lb
5 fish
4th place Bob Horn - Jayson Kisselburg 16.02 lb 5 fish
The big fish of the tournament
(8.23 lb) was caught by Curtis Cernik which netted him
both big fish pots for a total of $680.00 and a new
Competitive Edge fishing pole. Along with big fish he
and his partner Bob Kinley won first place and took
home $2220.00 in prize money. They caught the big fish
flipping up river and finished out the limit by flipping
and cranking the current. The second place team of Dave
Mitchell and Roy Price flipped a jig and craw all day
to take home $885.00. Third place went to Jimmy Phipps
and Brian Christensen who caught their fish cranking
in the Fishers and Ferguson area. They took home $680.00
