The
third event for the Southern Oklahoma Team Division was April
20 on Lake Eufaula. Four teams had five fish limits. All but
two teams had fish. 35 bass were weighed in weighing 84.39
lbs with an average weight of 2.41 lbs.
Junior
Waller, Duncan OK, and Kelly Jackson, Comanche OK, had five
bass weighing 14.74 pounds for the first place win. They received
$740.00 and winner's tee-shirts from the Label Stable, Ardmore
OK. Waller and Jackson fished the Long Town area of the lake
slow rolling a ¼ oz chartreuse Terminator spinnerbait
in, two to six feet deep murky to muddy water in weeds and
brush. Their first cast of the day produced their first bass,
with the next bass not coming until noon. Waller Machine and
JC&J Auto of Duncan OK sponsor Waller and Jackson.
The
father son team of Dannie and Preston Gentry, Shawnee OK,
came in second with five bass weighing 12.12 pounds. They
caught fish all day, fishing the mid lake area in willow trees
in muddy water using a medium retrieve on a Chartreuse spinnerbait
Dannie had made and hopping a black blue Johnson's Mark Stevenson's
Lake Fork jig. The Gentry's received $365.00.
Anglers
of the year, father son team of Bob and Chris Carver, Shawnee
OK, had the big bass of the event weighing 4.28 pounds. Bob
caught the big bass in the Long Town area on a 3/8oz white
Nichols spinnerbait in the bushes in two feet of dirty 66-degree
water about 1:oclock. Movie Stars Video of Shawnee OK sponsors
the Carvers. They received $120.00 for big bass.

U.S. Angler's Choice Southern Oklahoma Teams would like to thank

station for the Eufaula event.
The
next team event will be May 4, on Broken Bow going out of
Beavers Bend Marina. K & E Texaco will be the registration
site. Charles Wesley Motel will be the headquarters, call
(1-580-584-3303) for rooms. KBEL 96.7 FM will be the official
radio station for the Broken Bow event. The length limit for
Broken Bow will be 16 inches and over for small mouth and
large mouth bass and 12 inches and over for spotted bass.
The patch of teeth on the tongue will determine if a fish
is a spotted bass.
