The fishing was very tough on Lake Eufaula, for the sixth qualifying event of the Southern Oklahoma Team Tournaments. Only two five fish limits were brought to the scales and half of the field had only one bass.

Junior Waller, Duncan OK, and Kelly Jackson, Comanche OK, won the event with five bass weighing 7.23 pounds. They used white spinnerbaits and black buzzbaits in the mid- lake area fishing weeds and rocks. They had all five bass by 8 O'clock. First place paid $740.00. This is Waller and Jackson's second win of the year; they won the April Eufaula event. This win moved Waller and Jackson into fourth place in the Angler of the Year Race. J C & J Machine and Auto, and Waller Machine both of Duncan OK, sponsor Waller and Jackson.
